Delphinium elatum – Eastern Connecticut – novice gardener?

Hello, I am a novice gardener living in eastern Connecticut. I have these delphinium or larkspur (whatever the label says larkspur, delphinium elatum). However, mature seed pods. I gave him a few right in the garden but was not sure that I have collected the seeds in cloth. I do not know if I can just sow directly in the garden or if I have to freeze this for 2 days after sowing? It's July and I wonder if I should wait until spring or I can plant now? I looked through some websites say to wait until spring Some say they can plant through Sept. .. and does not help me, but only confusion.

Spurs are not the easiest flowers to grow, but worth the extra work worth the effort. store the seeds in a cool, dry place and plant in individual containers in the spring. Place in the window or greenhouse to grow. Plant in soil rich. I had good luck with pig manure. It stinks really bad, but if you leave it for 2 years, the stench is almost imperceptible. Cow manure really works smells so good and not evil. Foxgloves go very well with larkspur by road.
